• production diary // dockville festival 2014

As every year in August we went to Hamburg to capture the unique vibes of Dockville Festival. This time we had a whole new concept in mind for the annual Dockville Festival film. Now we are already in the edit and working on the final film. While skipping through the tones of footage we captured we realized what a great performance all our friends gave (who all had to star in the film). So here's a big thank you to everyone involved. Enjoy the snapshots we took in remembrance of the great time we had ! Thanks again!

  • we like // Johnny Tergo

Thank you internet! We just stumbled upon this great portrait series by Los Angeles based photographer Johny Tergo. His project has a studio quality to it though all the pictures have been taking while driving around downtown LA.“What I’ve tried to do is bring the studio lighting aspect to everyday real life on the streets.” Since he's spending a lot of his time in his Chevy Silverado - which has an over-the-top camera and lighting setup - Johny Tergo wanted to exploit his time behind the wheel and came up with this series about LAs pedestrians.  Want to see more, johnnytergo.com    all images © Johny Tergo

The last weeks have been pretty busy, since we're working on a couple of new projects. And there are already more pitches waiting for us. Long story short. We spend the last days working on an image film for Deutsche Bahn and their Museum. We had a great day filming at Berlin Central Station and also on the ICE train. Though we must say it's quite small on board, especially when you bring a shipload of equipment. Check out the pictures we took on set. Thanks to everybody who was involved in this exciting project !!

  • production diary // BBDOs Directors Lounge

Berlinale is almost over and we went to see some new movies, some interesting and ambitious others boring, leaving us confused. Also there is a ton of partys all over the city you kinda have to attend. From after show events over launch partys to whatever the occasion is.So, last night we went to BBDOs Directors Lounge a showcase event for talented directors who personally present their work. And we finally managed to take some pictures. Over 1.000 creatives, advertising and film professionals are running around and sharing ideas over a drink (not for free). We're still a bit squiffy and exhausted.Weekend let's go!!

  • we like // fabien raclet

I don't know why I fell so suddenly in love with the photographs of Fabien Raclet. Maybe it's his fascination for the analogue view, ever since he happened to put his hands on an old Nikon Nikkormat.  His work is so pure, real. True, so to speak. The subjective impression of an - volitional - unknown observer, able to evoke a subtle feeling for intimacy and nostalgia. A pure form of ordinary beauty. His work is fascinating, provoking the viewer into digging deep. Impossible to look at it for two seconds or less. I've been looking all day.

  • we like // this is dylan

24 years old and already part of skatebording's history. Dylan Rieder. Known and loved for his unique style and his 'cool as fuck' attitude. This portrait dosen't care that much about his skateboarding skills but focuses on his mentors and his character.  Perhaps this portrait even explains why everything Dylan touches turns to gold, whether in design, in fashion or just in skateboarding.

“At only 24, Dylan’s name is already well engraved in the history of skateboarding, thanks to his style, his personality and his incredible gift; that of skating fast and skating well. (…) After a rather tormented period, where he tasted the dark side of street life, and where he found himself literally catapulted to the front of the scene, Dylan got back up again, brushed himself off and with incredible maturity, imposed his own style, a style which quickly turned him into an icon for an entire generation of skateboarders.”
